If Cabo, Havasu, and Florida aren’t your thing, and you’d rather spend you break eating good food, enjoying the sites, and adventuring, then here are few suggestions for you.

Narragansett is a small beach town in Washington County, Rhode Island, with a plethora of spring time activities at your feet. Surf on Narragansett Beach and relax under the sun as you travel to Block Island on the ferry in the day. As the sun sets, walk along the central artery of the fishing industry in Galilee to get fresh fish and lobster directly from the fisherman to throw on the barbecue.

Wynwood, known as Miami’s art district, is a cool and hip place to spend spring break. Explore the numerous art exhibition spaces including the Rubell Family and Marguilies collection, as well as the mural filled Wynwood Walls. Filled with hip and trendy eateries, coffee shops, and bars, this district is not only a great spring break hang out, but is also a short 25-minute drive away from the classic Spring breaker spot of Miami Beach.


Asheville, North Carolina

Known for its art scene and historic architecture, its location in the Blue Ridge Mountains makes for an idyllic scene for a fun getaway. Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, adventure through the Pisgah National Forest and explore the River Arts District. Asheville not only has a vibrant cityscape, but also plenty of places to hike, eat, and learn.

Colorado isn’t just for winter fun. Known for its snowy peaks and great skiing, Steamboat is a great place to let of steam this spring break. Relax in the Strawberry Park hot springs, take photos from the gondola, and hike out to Fish Creek falls or hit the slopes for some spring skiing. Not only is Steamboat a good place to relax in nature, but it’s perfect for a friends weekend full of beers.


Seattle, Washington

Watch fish throwing and go food sampling at Pike Place Market, pick out a new type of chewy and add to the gum wall, or check out Chihuly Garden and Glass right next to the Needle. Seattle is a bustling city full of adventures for this spring break adventures, even if it rains the entire time you are there.


Minneapolis, Minnesota

No one ever thinks to hit up the Twin Cities for spring break. Usually, by the time spring break rolls around, the sun is often out, the ice has thawed, and the weather bearable. With beautiful brick buildings, vibrant nightlife, and lots to do, this city is definitely underrated. Home to the Institute of Art, Guthrie Theater, and an array of live music venues, you’re bound to find something to do. If not, you’re bound to find the perfect Instagram when you visit the Sculpture Garden.


Nashville, Tennessee

If music is your thing, you must hit up Nashville this spring break. Full of live concert venues and an array of bars and clubs, there is something for everyone. If museums aren’t normally your thing, Nashville has a few that may change your mind, including the Johnny Cash museum, Lane Motor museum, and Country Music Hall of Fame. If this isn’t enough to make you keen, there’s lots of mouthwatering southern comfort food like fluffy biscuits and gravy, fried chicken and Bushwacker’s (alcohol infused frosties) to convince you to visit. This is a fun and bustling city with something for everyone.

Grab your friends, a tent, and a couple of bottles of red wine, Big Sur is one great escape for spring break. Take the Overlook Trail to McWay Falls, stop and relax at Pfeiffer beach, and take in the views at Bixby Bridge.


Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, Arizona

If you want to get away from the world, Arizona is a great place to go exploring. At Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, there are enough trails to satisfy any level of hiker. Check out the Rainbow Bridge trail, upper and lower water trail, and Antelope Canyon for some amazing views. Backcountry hike, fish, camp, and get lost for a few days.


Natural Bridges National Monument, Utah

If you never had a reason to go to Utah, Natural Bridges is the perfect excuse. Not only are the rock formation incredible, including the famed bridge, but is also a great place to hike, camp, stargaze, and explore.


Great Basin National Park, Nevada

If you seek the solitude of the desert, venture out to Great Basin National Park. In the day time there is lots to do. Duck through the Lehman Caves full of stalagmites and stalactites, hike through the basin, fish in the creeks, and explore. But it’s at nighttime when this place really comes alive. One of the best parks to stargaze according to the National Park Night Sky Team, Great Basin National Park is nothing like you’ve ever seen before.
